The Blackburnian Warbler nests in coniferous woodlands in the Northeast US and SE Canada. The nest is an open cup of twigs, bark and plant fibers, wrapped with spider web. The female lays 3-5 eggs. The bird winters in northern South America. This warbler's typical diet consists primarily of insects and spiders, which it gleans on small branches high in trees, though it may be seen foraging in lower shrubs on occasion.
