The Grace's warbler is an inhabitant of coniferous and mixed forests of the Southwestern Mountains. An insect eater, it normally forages high in the trees, creeping along branches, and then darting out to catch flying insects. It may hover to inspect a pine cone for insect larvae. It is assumed to nest in high pines, though little is known about its nesting habits.
